October 7-8, 2006

Meeting Place:    Clark Ave. parking lot of Forest Hills Baptist Church
                          (located on the corner of Dixie Trail and Clark Avenue)
Departure Time: October 7, 7 AM
Return Time:      October 8, 11 PM
Includes:            Sightseeing, cabin & tent camping, campfire and Bible study on Saturday, and rafting on Sunday.
Ages:                 Children (6yrs. +) and Adults
Cost:                  Single Adult = $55
                         Married Couple = $90
                         Child (6-12) = $45

Full Payment due to FHBC by Oct. 2

Some scholarships are available for those who are on limited budgets. Please inquire at internationals@foresthills..org

You do not have to be able to swim to raft but you must be in good physical condition.

White Water River Rafting & Camping Trip

DATE: October 7-October 8, 2006

PLACE: Uncle JohnnyТs Campground, Erwin, TN

DESCRIPTION: We will arrive on Saturday afternoon, move in, and visit the local Apple festival, a display of traditional mountain crafts and arts. On Saturday night we will have a short Bible study and a campfire. On Sunday we will go rafting and then return to Raleigh. We will be rafting on the Nolichucky River with led by www.wahoosadventures.com.

HOUSING: Cabins and Tents
We have limited sleeping space available in cabins. Most people will sleep in tents. You will need to bring a pillow and a sleeping bag. Sleeping bags are available for rent at the NCSU Intramural Office, 515-3161 or purchased at Wal-Mart. We will have a few available for loan.

TIME: Arrive at Forest Hills: 7:00 a.m. 10/7/06
           Return to Forest Hills: 11:00 p.m. 10/8/06

TRANSPORTATION: Forest Hills Bus/Van

MEALS INCLUDED: Sat Dinner through Sunday Lunch

WHAT TO BRING:
toiletries, insect repellent, rain coat, recreational clothes, spending money, extra money for McDonaldТs, warm clothes/jacket, swimming suit, sleeping bag, air mattress, pillow, sheets, towels, and comfortable walking shoes

COST:
Adults
  working, non-students               $75.00 per person
  single student/retired                  $55.00 per person
  married students/retired couple  $90.00 per couple
Children
  6-12 years                                     $45.00 per person

FINAL REGISTRATION DATE: Mon., October 2, 2006

CANCELLATIONS: There will be a cancellation fee of $15.00 per person for any cancellations made after Wednesday, October 4, 2006.

А вот интересно, неужели  найдутся желающие  взять детей  ( начиная с 6 лет!)  на сплав по  довольно  холодной уже реке?

Хотя  насчет американцев я и не удивлюсь   - у нас на прошлой неделе на озере Билтмор устроили детский триатлон  - велосипед, плавание в озере ( 100 м) и бег -  со вступительным взносом  что-то вроде 50 долл. за ребенка. Деньги собирали на  благотворительность.  
Блин, в открытый  бассейн народ уже не загонишь палкой - холодно, а они детей-  в озеро!!  :roll:
